    Saab 93 Aero 2.0L Turbo

Been working for David Spear Commercials for about a month now, importing all of their stock into ebay (autotrader have no export/import routines for this job) so i had to write a little tool to do the job.... anyways a Saab 93 Aero Turbo came in on part-exchange, and i got the opportunity to take it for a little spin down New Road Hengoed... it totally blew me away, i couldn't believe how quick it was, bearing in mind i haven't driven a fast car for ages (since i got the VW Touran), it was torque steering all over the place or was trying!!!

It wasn't until i got back to the show room and checked it out that i realised that these things develop 210 BHP STANDARD!!!!

Another thing i liked was the car is stacked with goodies, electric adjustable seats, full leather, alloys, climate control, electric mirrors... you name it, its got it, its fully loaded, with a few small adjustments this car could be a real beast, and i have never seen one all boy racered up. I just don't like the shape so much.

I'm thinking of buying this car, for the right price... anyway heare are some pictures.

...of course i would have to drop it to the deck, get some tidy alloys, black out the windows, get a respray, fit dual exit stainles exhaust, induction kit, dump valve, bleed valve, boost valve, remapped ECU, oh, and steam clean the engine!!!!

210bhp as standard eh??? where you gonna be able to use that ya pleb head?? these roads are now unsuitable for high performance cars and yet idiots like your selves still go and spendmoney on making them faster and ridiculous looking... "lower for better handling" lol, theres that many sleeping policeman and bumps that you should all consider going back to the 80s and jacking themup..

grow up and buy a decent car that will save you not cost you money and is practical for more than pulling 15 year old girls in

Re: Saab 93 Aero 2.0L Turbo

"Pleb head", thats an old one... is it as old as you?

Um, as this car was designed to be used on roads, i will pretty much be driving it on them!!! You can't blame me for making it 210 BHP, thats down to the manufacturer and most people today would think even that is under powered, compare this to an Evo, Subaru, or Honda Civic Type-R, or the new Saab Areo infact which are all road legal yet high performance vehicles. Take your argument to the manufacturers, maybe they will listen, and maybe the new subaru will have a 1.3 litre engine!!!

The difference is that just because this car has 210 BHP under the bonnet does not make it dangerous, its the person behind the wheel, and as this car new was probably around the £20-25000 mark i dont think your average boy racer would be spending his pocket money on one, more like a pug 106, Fiesta, Saxo or somehting like that that barely reaches the 90 BHP range... The people who buy this sort of car regularly break the speed limit while commuting to and from work on a daily basis.

The point of this post, which you did not pick up on, so i will outline it, was to advertise it, the things i listed were merely simple and cost effective methods of improving the desireablity of the vehicle and to improve its selling point, which in itself would be quite difficult as it is butt ugly!!! And also to generally describe the shock i had when i drove it that it was so powerful!

As you obviously don't know me i will just describe the car i have: it's a VW Touran 19 TDi, Seven Seater, its reliable, yes and also comes with lots of safety features that protect my three kids when im driving them around. Oooh its also the most practical car i have ever owned, the rear seats fold down, so plenty of storage, i can even get a 3-seater sofa in the back (i know, i've done it), and the fuel economy, well thats another story, or another post to be pedantic Wink. I also have a clean driving license, no convictions, and you will also be surprised to know that this idiot also has 11 years no claims discount, which is coincidentally the same period of time for which i have held my driving license.

My days of pulling 15 year old girls ended when i myself was 15, when i started my first serious relationship which lasted 10 years, and for you to imply that because, i like this car i am a paedophile, is outrageous, what is even more outrageous is the fact that you think this car would appeal to a 15 year old girl!!!

Re: Saab 93 Aero 2.0L Turbo

Sounds like a good all round car, with loads of cool stuff and plenty of room for improvement for your money, fuel consumption is going to be a negative compared to the diesel, but that won't matter so much if your not driving it all the time, and with 11 years no claims you should be OK on the insurance. The car is a y registration (2001), so watch the mileage, and probably due for a major service.
