Editing your The-Port Profile is very simple, and you can get to the 'Edit Your Profile' page in one of two ways:
- Click the 'Edit' link at the top-right of the page next to your user name.
- Click the 'Edit profile' link from your profile via the 'Home' link.
Below is a list of the settings that can be changed on your profile, where applicable a description of the impact on your forum experience will be identified:
Profile Options:
Enable Avatar: Yes/No - turns your profile picture on and off respectively.
Upload Avatar: Browse / Update - lets you specify the image you wish to use as your profile image from your computer and update it.
Avatar URL: - This is currently disabled but would normally allow you to connect to an image hosted on another site.

Bio: - Enter something about yourself in this section, you can change the style, colour, size and font of your text, add images and links, and you can even add your own HTML.
Name: This is the name that members see when you are logged in, it can be different to the username you use to log in to the site, so long as you have set 'Enable Display Name' to yes on the site options tab.
Location: Where you are currently Living, where you were born, your fav place, whatever.
Birthday: Not Set - Your date of birth or Not Set to hide your age from your profile.
Gender: Not Set / Male / Female - Allows you to set your gender, which shows up on your profile, Not Set hides your age.
Web Address: The URL to your website or favorite page.
Blog: The URL to your Blog.
Gallery: The URL to your Gallery
Language: Set the language you require here.
Public Email: E-Mail address that you wish other members to be able to contact you on.
Share Favorite Posts: Yes/No - allows you to specify favorite posts and display them on your profile for other members to share.
Share Favorite Sections: Yes/No - allows you to specify favorite forum sections and display them on your profile for other members to share.
RSS Feed URLs (one per line) - Enter feeds that you whish to share to other members through your profile.
Site Options:
Site Posts: Ascending/Descending - Allows you to set the direction in order of post date that posts are displayed.
Font Size: Small/Normal/Large/Largest - The size of the text on all forum sections.
Content Editor: Plain Text/Standard/Enhanced - Allows you to set the tools that are displayed when you are editing posts.
Forum Posts Default View: Flat View/Threaded View - Flat View displays posts one after another in date order, Threaded View displays posts as a tree connected by reply.
Enable Display Name: Yes/No - Enables you to change your display name in Profile Options.
Display in members list: Yes/No - Allows you to be shown or hidden when members search the members list.
Enable Post Mouse-Over Popup: Yes/No - Displays pop ups under the mouse pointer containing information about the post.
Enable Collapsing Panels: Yes/No - Allows you to contol the state of collapsible panels.
Enable Conversation Notifications: Yes/No - Allows you to receive notifications when members start a conversation with you.
Enable Comment Notifications: Yes/No - Allows you to receive notifications when a member comments your profile.
Enable Emoticons: Yes/No - Enables emoticons on posts.
Display user avatars: Yes/No - Allows you to set wether user avatars are displayed in forum sections.
Display user signatures: Yes/No - Allows you to turn on or of the display of members signatures.
Items per-Page in Control Panel grids: 5/10/20/30/40/50 - sets the number of items displayed.
Time Zone: Allows you to set the time zone.
Date Format: Change the date format to your prefered display format.
Private email: Your private email address is never publicly shared.
Receive emails: When disabled you will turn off all site emails (including notifications).
Receive HTML emails: For email clients that support rich (HTML) email.
Send notifications: When disabled no email notifications are sent for content you are subscribed to.
Signature: Enter something in this space to be displayed under all of your posts, you can change the style, colour, size and font of your text, add images and links, and you can even add your own HTML.
Sign-In Information:
Sign-In Name: The sign-in name is used along with your password to access this site.
Password: Click the change password link to change your sign-in password.
Last Sign-In: Displays the date for which you last signed into the site.
